After superstar quarterback Tom Brady called it a career following the 2022 NFL season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were tasked with finding a replacement for arguably the greatest player to ever play the position.
It didn’t take long before the team decided to bring in former No. 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield after a better-than-expected stint with the Los Angeles Rams.
Mayfield jumped at the opportunity to be a starter in the NFL again, and after four weeks, the Buccaneers seemed to have gotten a steal with the veteran quarterback, as they won three of their first four games.
Unfortunately, the Buccaneers have lost their last two games to the Detroit Lions and division-rival Atlanta Falcons and might be without two of their best players for Week 8 against the Buffalo Bills, according to Dov Kleiman.

Mayfield is currently dealing with a knee injury, which has made his playing status questionable for Week 8 against the Bills.
After six games to start the season, Mayfield has thrown for 1,363 yards, eight touchdowns, and four interceptions with a 65.2% completion percentage, which isn’t bad for a player that many believed was done as a starter in the NFL.
As for Chris Godwin, the veteran wide receiver has caught 33 passes for 398 yards thus far without a trip to the end zone.
If the Buccaneers are missing one or both of these star players, it will be difficult for them to come out on top against the Bills, who will be looking to bounce back with a vengeance after losing to the New England Patriots last week.
