The NFC South race is coming down to the wire between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons, though the former has the upper hand as they are currently atop the standings with an 8-6 record.
The Buccaneers have dealt with some injuries throughout the 2024 NFL season, but Baker Mayfield and the offense have kept things rolling regardless.
Mayfield has looked even better this season after a strong 2023 NFL campaign and has his team in position to make the playoffs if they can pick up a couple more wins.
However, offensive coordinator Liam Coen deserves credit for his playcalling and for getting the most out of his unit.
There will be several head coaching openings available this offseason, and Peter Schrager reported that Coen will be in the mix via FOX Sports.
“So as everyone’s talking about Ben Johnson as one of these coaching candidates, watch for Liam Coen, young offensive coordinator for the Bucs, he will be getting interviews as well,” Schrager reported.

Schrager notes that Coen’s been able to get better offensive numbers from the Buccaneers than former offensive coordinator Dave Canales.
He also reported that his relationship and time with Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay makes him an attractive candidate for teams who might want a more offensive-focused head coach.
If Tampa Bay continues to win and impress on the offensive side of the football field the rest of the way, Coen should be in line for multiple offers in the coming months.
