Bruce Arians has been in the national headlines a lot over the past few weeks.
First was because of his tense interaction with Antonio Brown where the receiver claimed the head coach told him to leave, ultimately ending Brown’s tenure with the team.
Arians had a different side to the story, and no one outside of those two seems to know the truth.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers cruised to victory Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, yet Arians is being fined $50,000 this week for something that happened during the game.
Those who watched saw the head coach hit his own player, Andrew Adams, in the helmet before throwing an elbow as well.
He claims he did this because Adams was going to get a penalty for pulling players off a pile.
The NFL does not care and handed out the fine anyway.

This is a massive fine for the head coach, especially considering the action was against his own player.
The league clearly doesn’t want this to become a normal thing.
Arians Ready To Appeal
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport went on to explain that Arians is going to appeal this fine to the NFL.

The appeal makes sense because it came against his own player and it’s not like it was a long, drawn out interaction.
Yet this fine is being handed out as a sort of a statement to coaches.
They are not to do something like this to their own players.
Former Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer reportedly kicked his own kicker, and that story breaking proved he had to go.
Arians and the Buccaneers are focused on the Divisional Round and attempting to get back to the Super Bowl.
So while this fine is steep, it shouldn’t affect the team’s focus.
He and Adams may just have some awkward interactions for the remainder of the postseason.
