The NFL is changing.
New faces are entering the scene, and while the influx of money could be good for the league, it doesn’t always translate into success.
Throughout history, we’ve seen owners take a hands-on approach and micromanage everything, and that’s rarely positive.
That’s why Bruce Arians knows what kind of owner he likes best.
When interviewed by Dianna Russini and Chase Daniel for their podcast, he claimed that the best type of NFL owner is the one you don’t see.
He even revealed that Kansas City Chiefs owner Lamar Hunt knocked on the door to ask if being there during the NFL Draft was okay (via The Athletic).
Bruce Arians has seen a lot, and coached all over the NFL.
He knows what it takes to be a good owner. And he doesn't know if this new wave of them has what it takes to succeed.

Arians also expressed concern about new billionaires entering the scene, as they usually expect a quick fix, which isn’t easy to achieve in this game.
NFL teams are overpriced toys and trophies for some of the wealthiest men on Earth.
Nevertheless, being a successful business owner doesn’t necessarily mean you know how to run a football team.
That’s what you have a front office for.
And while it’s never good to just leave everything be and be overly absent, it’s also not good to micromanage or try to influence every decision.
The Carolina Panthers and Dallas Cowboys are prime examples of those trends.
Of course, it’s not much of a coincidence that both of those teams haven’t been successful with that kind of approach, at least football-wise.
