The Cleveland Browns were in desperate need of help, and Joe Flacco came to the rescue when it mattered the most.
Flacco was a beacon of light amid a complicated season, and he’s now led the team to four wins in their past five games.
That’s why the team decided to make a classy move with him.
According to Field Yates of ESPN, his contract originally included a $75K incentive for each game in which he played 50% of the snaps and the team won.
But now that they’re going to rest him vs. the Cincinnati Bengals to keep him safe and sound for the playoffs, the team has converted that incentive to a $75K bonus for being on the 53-man roster.

Nice touch by Cleveland.

This is such a nice gesture by the front office, and it’s definitely something he’s earned with his play and his attitude.
Flacco didn’t just uplift the team on the field; he made a huge impact in the locker room as well.
It didn’t take long before he meshed with the team, as he could easily identify with how overlooked, counted out, and simply underrated the team was.
No one trusted Flacco; no one thought he still had anything left in the tank.
No one but the Cleveland Browns.
And while it’ll always be kind of odd to see a former foe turning into a fan favorite, Flacco has the chance to do something quite special in Cleveland, and this tenure won’t ever be forgotten, regardless of how things turn out in the end.
