The Milwaukee Bucks have one of the best big men in the league in Giannis Antetokounmpo but they need more than just him to win another championship.
Thankfully, the team does have quite a few talented stars on the roster.
One of those stars was back in a very big way on Thursday night as the Bucks defeated the Philadelphia 76ers.
BROOK LOPEZ MEETS EMBIID AT THE RIM
— Hoop Central (@TheHoopCentral) October 21, 2022
Brook Lopez, who missed nearly all of last season due to injury, had a stellar night.
He scored 17 points and 4 rebounds.
He also had 2 blocks, including one against MVP contender Joel Embiid.
The playing from Lopez on Thursday reminded fans of just what the team was missing last season.
They sure are happy to see him back on the court.
Brook No Longer Broken
Lopez participated in 13 games last season before an injury sidelined him and kept him off the court.
As the season went on, it became more and more apparent that Lopez was a vital part of the team’s defense.
He has quietly become one of the most talented centers in the league, a seven-foot phenom with a 37.5% field goal percentage.
Lopez is able to perform incredible blocks like the one against Embiid and can also sink some choice shots when the team needs him to.
So many people think of the Bucks as Antetokounmpo’s team and it definitely is, but there is more to Milwaukee than just the Greek Freak.
As the team attempts to return to the NBA Finals this season, they will remind people of that.
Expect to see much more of Lopez, Jrue Holiday, Bobby Portis, Grayson Allen, and eventually Khris Middleton too.
