Sean Payton has officially taken over as the newest head coach of the Denver Broncos.
After the Broncos’ 5-12 record in 2022, the team needs some new leadership, and Payton could be the one to make that happen.
Payton comes to the Broncos as a highly-decorated coach and will look to make a year-one impact.
In a recent conversation with the Denver Post, longtime NFL veteran Kareem Jackson highlighted his thoughts on Payton’s arrival.
“It’s no disrespect to any of my other coaches,” Jackson said. “(Payton’s) attention to detail (and) the way he’s teaching everybody…the younger guys (might) not understand it now. I know later on they will appreciate it. Some of the things that he’s doing now, I haven’t experienced.”

Many factors could have led to decreased production from the Broncos last season.
Many around the league believed that Russell Wilson was more of a distraction than anything last year, causing a few shortcomings.
Others pointed to the coaching staff as the team’s biggest downfall, not leading them in the best possible direction.
Regardless of the reasoning, Payton is now at the helm.
For Jackson, that appeared to be a good enough reason for him to return to the Broncos for another season.
“He’s capable of leading a team, so that was a huge part,” Jackson said, regarding his return to the team for the 2023 campaign.
Jackson is a 13-year NFL veteran, spending his career with the Houston Texans, and now the Broncos for the last four seasons.
