Once again, Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh is a popular name in the NFL coaching carousel.
After the Wolverines lost to TCU in the College Football Playoff Semifinals, Harbaugh’s name popped up — and the most likely landing spot has become the Denver Broncos.
The Broncos fired Nathaniel Hackett in his first year as head coach, and the new ownership has to hit a home run with this next hire.
A ton of chatter has emerged over the past few days, and here’s a brief rundown:
.@AdamSchefter: #Broncos will be "ultra aggressive" to land top HC target.@RapSheet: Denver has "been doing homework" on Jim Harbaugh.@ProFootballTalk: Broncos have reached out to Harbaugh.

Three major NFL insiders have all stated the same thing: Harbaugh to Denver is gaining steam.
Last offseason, Harbaugh interviewed with the Minnesota Vikings but ultimately decided to return to Ann Arbor.
Michigan fell in the College Football Playoff once again, and now Harbaugh might consider making the move to the NFL.
The Broncos came into the season with Super Bowl hopes after trading for Russell Wilson, but a combination of Wilson’s regression and Hackett’s questionable coaching has Denver entering Week 18 with a 4-12 record, the third worst in the entire AFC.
Harbaugh did well during his time as the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, and he would inherit a decent roster in Denver with an ownership group desperate to make a massive change quickly.
For the second year in a row, Harbaugh is being linked to an NFL job, and things could move quickly.
