The Las Vegas Raiders have had an embarrassing 3-12 season so far.
To make matters worse, the team beat the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 16 to end a 10-game losing streak and knock them out of the top-2 draft slots for 2025.
One of the lone bright spots has been rookie tight end Brock Bowers, who already has 101 catches for 1,067 yards and four touchdowns with two games remaining and has a chance to make NFL history on Sunday.
Bowers has the chance to break Mike Ditka’s record for receiving yards by a rookie tight end on Sunday of 1,076, which Bowers needs just ten yards to break.

Ditka set the record 63 years ago when he caught 56 passes for 1,076 yards in his first season with the Chicago Bears in 1961.
It was the only time in his career that he surpassed 1,000 yards in a season, a feat the Raiders hope Bowers will not achieve.
Bowers also has a chance to break Puka Nacua’s rookie receptions record of 105, as he needs just five catches to do so.
The Georgia product came into the league with massive expectations after being selected with the 13th overall pick, and he has exceeded all of them despite instability at the quarterback position.
The Raiders have cycled through Gardner Minshew, Aidan O’Connell, and Desmond Ridder at QB this season, all of whom have been underwhelming and made it clear that this team needs a franchise QB as badly as any team in the NFL right now.
Bowers should have no problem breaking both these records quickly on Sunday.
