On Thursday night, the Dallas Mavericks took down the short-handed Phoenix Suns, beating that team 123-113.
On Friday morning’s First Take, Brian Windhorst told viewers that the Mavericks are a team to watch and people should expect big things from them.
Windhorst noted that Dallas has now won seven games in a row.
Plus, he added the surprising fact that Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic have only played 29 times together this season.
What happens if this team continues to be healthy and keeps racking up wins?

The Mavericks’ seven-game win streak has been very impressive, especially since they have beaten tough teams like the New York Knicks and Oklahoma City Thunder.
Plus, some of those wins have been at home but others have been on the road.
All in all, this team has been surging recently and quietly making a case for themselves as legitimate Western Conference contenders.
The Mavericks have won every game since Irving returned from injury and Doncic has been incredible lately, averaging 31.3 points per game.
He is being spoken of as a potential MVP winner because of just how well he’s been playing.
The Mavericks are one of the most exciting teams in the West right now but they have to keep it up.
Even with their seven consecutive wins, they are still the sixth seed in the West and many of the squads below them are only a few games behind.
That means others could surpass them in a short amount of time so the Mavericks absolutely have to stay competitive for the rest of the season if they wish to earn their spot in the playoffs.
The season is very long and a lot of competition is ahead but the Mavericks are returning from the All-Star break in great condition.
