Robert Williams of the Portland Trail Blazers is a young and immensely talented big man who has an unfortunate history of serious injuries.
However, his best days may still be ahead of him if he can get healthy.
According to Brian Windhorst, per NBACentral, Williams is a potential trade candidate for Portland.
Windhorst said:
“Coming back off injury, obviously, he’s a guy who’s had repeated injury problems, but he makes $13 million. They may be willing to part with him, and he could go to a contender and be a significant piece if he is healthy.”

Williams has only played six games with the Blazers since coming over to Portland after years with the Boston Celtics.
An injury kept him sidelined all year, which isn’t all that surprising considering he has never played more than 61 games in a season during his six-year career.
When Williams is healthy, he is a defensive beast and impressed the Celtics fanbase.
However, it would make sense for the Blazers to consider trading him away.
They are an up-and-coming team with a young roster, little chance of postseason success, and a long road ahead.
They need to seriously consider every player who could be a helpful trade asset in order to put together the best roster moving forward.
Trading Williams could get them some good assets in return and it would take his contract off their books.
Plus, they know that it’ll be some time before they are true playoff contenders again so Portland isn’t afraid of losing his talent if it helps them in the long run.
The question is which teams would consider signing Williams after all of his physical problems?
Surely, there is an option out there but right now it’s not clear who would take the chance.
