The Boston Celtics are one win away from making history.
They could become the first team to come back from a 0-3 deficit in an NBA playoff series and seal what some might deem the greatest comeback in the history of this league.
That’s not the case with Brian Windhorst of ESPN, though.

In his latest appearance on Get Up, the analyst claimed that the Cleveland Cavaliers’ comeback in the 2016 NBA Finals should still be considered as the greatest of all time.
Windhorst did acknowledge that a win tonight, plus that epic New England Patriots comeback in Super Bowl LI, and the Boston Red Sox coming back from a 0-3 deficit vs. the New York Yankees in the 2004 ALCS, would give Boston the undisputed ‘comeback city’ status.
Coming back from a 0-3 deficit is a remarkable achievement, no doubt, as 149 teams have failed to do it throughout the years.
Just four teams have ever forced a Game 7 after being down 0-3 — including the Celtics — and all have lost.
However, the Celtics will be the first team to play Game 7 at home, so they should obviously have a big edge over those who tried to pull this miracle off in the past.
Then again, it’s hard to argue with Windhorst choosing the 2016 NBA Finals as a more epic comeback, as it featured a record-breaking 73-win team and the Cavs had to win Games 5 and 7 on the road with some of the most iconic plays in the history of the NBA Finals.
