After acquiring star guard Donovan Mitchell in a blockbuster trade with the Utah Jazz, the Cleveland Cavaliers were able to take it to another level during the 2022-23 NBA season, leading to a fourth seed in the Eastern Conference.
Unfortunately, the Cavs didn’t live up to expectations in the NBA playoffs, with Mitchell and company falling to Jalen Brunson’s New York Knicks in the first round in five games.
With the Cavs coming up short in the postseason and getting embarrassed by the Knicks, Cleveland could try to make some noise during the offseason to upgrade the roster.
Initially, rumors began to circulate about the Cavs potentially being willing to trade Isaac Okoro in order to improve their squad, but those rumors have gone quiet until ESPN’s Brian Windhorst stirred the pot this week, hinting that Cleveland might be trying to do something big this summer, via ESPN Cleveland.
"I have some speculation, there's a couple of outlandish stuff that I'm not going to say right now because I'd get in trouble… I wish I could tell you more and I know I shouldn't tease you," – @WindhorstESPN on Cavs FA rumors.

Over the past few weeks, all the talk around the NBA has been about stars around the league potentially being on the move, namely Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers.
The Cavs are either keeping things under wraps, or there’s no truth to Windhorst hinting at something big being on the horizon in Cleveland.
After losing to the Knicks, it became clear that Cleveland may need to make a move or two to compete with the best of the best in the Eastern Conference next season and for the foreseeable future.
It’ll be interesting to see if there is something in the works and if Cleveland is ready to make another big trade or make a splash in NBA free agency.
