The New York Giants may have found their guy for the future.
They signed Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston to be at the top of their QB depth chart this season, but neither of them might be a long-term solution at the position.
That’s why the fans might be thrilled to hear what Brian Daboll has to say about their rookie signal-caller.
As shown by Big Blue Film Room on X, the Giants’ head coach believes Jaxson Dart has made big strides since they took him in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft:
“Continual improvement from Jaxson. He’s made steady strides since he’s been here. He’s got moxie, he’s got toughness. He’s got good intelligence, football IQ, instincts. He can throw the football however he needs to throw the football. Steady improvement every day. Like where Jaxson’s at,” Daboll said.

Dart was one of the most intriguing and polarizing prospects entering the league this season.
Some scouts thought he had the best arm in his class, and while he was unpolished and raw, he seemed to have the traits a good coaching staff could develop and mold into an NFL-caliber quarterback.
Dart did well enough in the toughest conference in college football, and he will have the opportunity to sit back and learn from a Super Bowl-winning quarterback while he keeps working on his game and waiting for his opportunity to take the field.
He may not be ready during his rookie season, but sometimes, it’s better to take things slowly and make sure to put the young quarterbacks in a position to succeed, as opposed to rushing them into the fire and hurting their development and confidence.
He has some hurdles to clear, but it will be interesting to see how he fares in the preseason and how far along he’s come.
