Sometimes, it’s easy to tell when you’ve hit a home run if you’re a Major League Baseball player.
You can feel that you got it off the bat.
Other times, it’s not so easy to tell.
Sometimes it looks like it’s still in play.
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Brett Phillips had one of those moments last night during the team’s game against the Detroit Tigers.
He gave a 2-1 pitch from Tigers starter Alex Faedo quite a ride, so much so that it hit off the ring just below the closed roof at Tropicana Field.
It was ruled a home run, but the ball did bounce back onto the field, causing Phillips to turn on the jets and sprint all the way around the bases.

Fastest Home Run Ever?
This might just be the funniest home run you’ll ever see when watching a Major League Baseball game.
Phillips had the jets going from the get-go, even though he hit it high and far enough for it to be a home run.
But it’s easy to see why Phillips may have been confused.
The ball did bounce back onto the field after all.
That would confuse anybody.
But seeing Phillips turn on the jets the way he did was pretty funny for baseball fans and a great moment.
You have to at least admire the hustle.
That’s never lacking with a guy like Phillips.
But a little humor is never lacking either with him.
He’s a funny guy and provided us fans with one of the funniest home run trots you’ll ever see.
It would be great if he could do that on every home run, even the no-doubters, just for some humor.
