Although things started out great for them, the New Orleans Pelicans will likely be scratching and clawing their way into the playoffs this season.
That was what happened last year and they eventually impressed during the opening round but weren’t able to get far.
They are hoping that won’t be the case this year.
However, numerous injuries have dashed the team’s chances again and again.
Brandon Ingram over his last 10 games:
29.5 ppg
5.1 reb
4.5 ast

One player who was out for a considerable amount of time was Brandon Ingram, who missed nearly two months because of an injury.
But since coming back, Ingram has shown his value to the Pels.
During his last ten games, Ingram has averaged 29.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.5 assists on a 51% field goal percentage.
Those are wonderful numbers and have helped the team secure a few important wins.
Yet they are still at a disadvantage among Western Conference teams.
Once the top team in their conference, the Pelicans are now tenth, behind the Utah Jazz and Minnesota Timberwolves.
The loss of Zion Williamson has seriously hurt the Pelicans and they are hopeful that he can come back and help them out before the playoffs arrive.
Ingram is doing very well but the team obviously needs more than that.
During his last ten games, the Pelicans have gone 4-6 even with Ingram cleaning up on the court.
To have their best shot at the playoffs, the team needs not only Ingram, CJ McCollum, Herbert Jones, and others but Williamson too.
It will only be then that the team is able to capitalize on its true potential.
