The Houston Texans’ 2023 season went much better than most people expected.
They were coming off a 2022 campaign where they were one of the worst teams in the league, but they found a way to turn things around.
C.J. Stroud was given a lot of credit for helping bring the team back to relevancy, but the front office also put the right players on the field to give him the best possible chance to succeed.
With their 2023 performance in mind, there were high hopes for the Texans coming into the year.
They have managed a 6-4 record to this point but haven’t been as dominant as they’d like to be.
Several factors have played into their relatively lackluster start to the year, including some key injuries to their offensive line, as Brady Quinn said on FOX Sports Radio.
“Their O-line’s been banged up, I think that’s been the biggest issue to me. They’ve been having issues mixing different guys in at center, last night Tunsil went out, Blake Fisher came in, tough duty to replace him as a rookie,” Quinn said.

Consistency is one of the most important aspects of a good offensive line, and due to injuries, the Texans haven’t been as consistent as they’d like.
This has caused Stroud to have to move around more in the pocket, leading to accuracy issues that he didn’t experience last year.
If their offensive line gets healthier in the next few weeks, the Texans should have a decent chance at winning a playoff game or two, but it will be difficult for them to make a playoff run without a strong unit.
