Bobby Portis of the Milwaukee Bucks believes in Team USA and he knows what their secret power is: camaraderie.
Speaking to the press after the team’s latest World Cup win, via USA Basketball on Twitter, Portis opened up about what makes this group so special.
He said that while all the players have known each other for years, they are now closer and building special bonds and chemistry.
It’s a connection that can only be created when athletes go on the road and spend a lot of time together.
“When you get to these tournaments, that’s when the chemistry starts,” Portis said.

The chemistry is paying off.
Team USA is now undefeated in the opening round of the World Cup.
Their latest win was a massive one against Jordan, 110-62.
They are now heading to the second round, and to more intense competition.
But, according to Portis, they have what it takes to go far and even win it all.
During these first three games, Portis has only played an average of 12.5 minutes and has scored 9 points a game.
But his impact on the team goes beyond the box score.
He is a seasoned veteran and an NBA champion too.
He knows what it takes to win it all and is focused on making sure the team feels close and connected.
Throughout the year, these players are battling against each other during the regular season.
But they have grown strong bonds over the last few weeks in multiple ways and that is evident on the court during the World Cup.
How far can their camaraderie and chemistry take them?
