The Denver Broncos got off to a rough start to the 2024 NFL season after going through some drastic changes during the offseason, replacing veteran quarterback Russell Wilson with rookie quarterback Bo Nix.
Sean Payton’s squad lost two games to start the season, falling to the Seattle Seahawks and Pittsburgh Steelers in consecutive games, but then were able to win three straight games to get above .500 and provide some hope for a run at a playoff spot in the AFC.
Heading into Week 9’s matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, the Broncos have won five of their last six games and are starting to look like a real threat in the AFC.
However, Denver will perhaps face its toughest challenge by trying to contain the Ravens’ offense, which is arguably the best in the league right now, led by superstars Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry.
Nix seems to be up for the task of facing the AFC heavyweights this weekend, claiming it will be “an important” game for both teams, according to Zac Stevens of DNVR Sports.
“It’s important for us, and it is going to be important for them,” Nix said.

The Ravens will come into this game, having lost to the division-rival Cleveland Browns in Week 8, which was arguably the biggest upset in the NFL this past weekend.
Baltimore is heavily favored in this game (-9), but if the Broncos can excel defensively, Denver might have a chance to pull off the upset on the road at M&T Bank Stadium.
