The Buffalo Bills have high hopes for Keon Coleman.
The second-round pick was projected to be a sleeper pick for Offensive Rookie of the Year last season, but he didn’t live up to the expectations.
Even so, he’s still quite young and physically talented, and it’s never wise to count out a player after an underwhelming first season.
With that in mind, Bills fans should be thrilled to hear what HC Sean McDermott had to say about his prized youngster.
As reported by Matt Parrino of Syracuse.com on X, McDermott gushed about Coleman’s offseason improvement and work:
“When he came back, he was in really good shape. You could tell he had been working drill wise, weight room wise, so real proud of what he’s done to this point in the offseason, (not it’s about) continuing it now as we get into the three weeks of practice,” said McDermott.

The Florida State product made 13 appearances (12 starts) in his first year in the league.
He hauled in 29 receptions on 57 targets for 556 yards and four touchdowns, averaging a whopping 19.2 yards per reception and 42.8 receiving yards per game.
As underwhelming as those numbers might be, he showcased impressive big-play potential, and he has the physical tools to be a perennial mismatch down the field.
Josh Allen had an MVP season by spreading the wealth and feeding everybody in the passing game, and that also took a toll on Coleman.
Even so, if he makes the most of his opportunities in year two, it wouldn’t be shocking to see him draw the kind of volume that Stefon Diggs drew when he played alongside Allen.
We’ve seen countless players fly under the radar as rookies before breaking out in their sophomore year, and Coleman will be a prime candidate to join that list in his second season in the league.
