Nick Foles is finally a free agent after his tenure in Chicago with the Bears.
The former Super Bowl MVP was released after Chicago couldn’t find a trade partner for Foles.
However, there are three teams that could use his talents on their rosters for 2022.
3. Seattle Seahawks
The era of Russell Wilson in Seattle is over after the team traded him to Denver at the start of the 2022 NFL offseason.
During the draft, fans thought Seattle would draft a quarterback after only one was selected in the first round.
One quarterback that Seahawks fans wanted was Malik Willis.
In 7 picks this could be reality @Seahawks. Please get Malik Willis he fits our offensive scheme. Being a dual threat quarterback who can scramble for gains, and throw the ball far like Russell used to do for us, so please draft Malik Willis at pick #40 #NFLDraft #Seahawks pic.twitter.com/ixIPGPzM0W

However, by the end of the NFL Draft, they didn’t select a quarterback.
With fans’ confidence in Drew Lock leading Seattle being low, signing Foles could help them.
Seattle now has some added offensive protection, and Foles has playoff and Super Bowl experience.
The combination of these two things could help Seattle at least stay somewhat competitive in a tough NFC West.
Without a veteran quarterback, they might see a rough 2022 season.
However, Foles can help smooth over those shaky waters a little for Seattle.
He isn’t a long-term fix, but he can keep Seattle from being at rock bottom in the NFC West.
2. Carolina Panthers
Drama in Carolina is at an all-time high with coaches not knowing if Sam Darnold is really their starter for 2022.
The Panthers’ offensive coordinator said Darnold was the starting quarterback for 2022, only to take it back minutes later.

They also have been linked to trade rumors for disgruntled quarterback Baker Mayfield.
However, the contract of Mayfield makes any trade for him hard to swallow.
But they could settle for Foles.
Foles has the experience they desire and is slightly better than Darnold.
While the team drafted quarterback Matt Coral in the third round, Foles could help them until he develops.
He’d be what people in the NFL call a bridge quarterback.
Fans in Carolina need some hope for 2022, as Coral might not see action until 2023.
1. Houston Texans
The Houston Texans needed every position filled during the NFL Draft.
However, they only had nine picks to fill these positions.
With quarterback being one of those positions, it was shocking to some they didn’t select a quarterback at all.
This now leaves them with David Mills and Kyle Allen.
Mills passed for 2,664 yards and 16 touchdowns against ten interceptions last season.
That could make him the starter over Allen, but Foles could bring more competition to Houston.
With Houston getting the best players available to fill every need they had, Foles can fill the most important role.
He’d give the team a more experienced quarterback than Mills.
Whether he’d be a starter over Mills could only be seen if they sign him and have a quarterback battle during preseason.
Foles, at the least, could force Mills to improve on his 2021 performance.
At the most, he could overtake the starting job.
Either way, a Foles signing with the Texans gives them something they can work with at either starter or backup.
