The Cincinnati Bengals will have a new workhorse at the running back position.
They signed veteran RB Zack Moss, and reports stated that they were ready to release Joe Mixon.
However, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that it won’t be the case anymore, and they’ll trade him to the Houston Texans instead.
Plot twist: The #Bengals are now trading Joe Mixon to the #Texans, rather than releasing him, sources say.

Mixon will look to revamp a struggling running game.
The Texans lost Devin Singletary to the New York Giants, and Dameon Pierce had a disappointing second campaign after an impressive rookie season.
Mixon has been one of the most productive backs in the game for quite a while now, but his contract situation and off-field issues have raised questions about his future with the Bengals for the past couple of years.
The Bengals are looking to shed some salary off their books.
They must figure out a way to get star WR Tee Higgins signed to a long-term deal.
He recently requested a trade, stating that he loved the team but was angry at the fact that they hadn’t reached out to sign him to an extension after placing him under the franchise tag.
Joe Burrow’s massive contract put them in a tough spot, and they’ll have to save up money to get Ja’Marr Chase a potential record-breaking extension when the time is right as well.
With that in mind, they have no choice but to hope that Moss, who has underperformed for most of his career, will be able to make up for Mixon’s stellar production.
