The Chicago Bears are entering 2022 with Justin Fields as the clear number one on the team.
Fields has a completely new coaching staff and general manager as he starts his second year with the team.
Matt Eberflus replaces Matt Nagy at head coach with hopes to turn the Bears around.
That isn’t all that’s new for Fields and the Bears going into 2022.
Last Year’s Starter Is Now Gone
Andy Dalton came to Chicago and got the starting job after the 2021 preseason.
However, an injury would force Fields into the starting role for a short time.
One year after signing him, the Bears have yet to resign him.
If anyone were to have a chance against Fields for the starting job, it would have been Dalton.
With him gone, the starting job now rests on Fields’ shoulders.
Chicago Signs Lackluster Backup Trevor Siemian
If you want a backup quarterback with no starting quarterback potential, Siemian is your guy.
He is 0-5 in his last five starts, four of which came while he was with the Saints last season.
Fields will have nothing to worry about with Siemian on the roster.
However, the Bears might be in trouble if they have to rely on Siemian in the event Fields cannot play.
The move also has people speculating that Nick Foles is on his way out of Chicago next.
He is the last player Fields would have to worry about for the starting quarterback job.
But there is hope for Fields when looking at his completely retooled team.
Old And New Faces Are In Chicago To Help Fields On Offense
Fields will have a new offense come in 2022, but there will be some familiar faces on the team for him.
David Montgomery, Darnell Mooney, Cole Kmet, and Cody Whitehair are just a few of the returning players in Chicago.
Two new receivers are on the team in Byron Pringle and Equanimeous St. Brown.
The team also signed free agent center Lucas Patrick, a former Green Bay Packer.

Chicago hopes to see Fields grow with the new offensive players the team now has.
Will 2022 Be A Good Year For Fields?
All Bears fans want to know is if the team and Fields will be any good this season.
I think Justin Fields will be better in 2022 simply because he will start the year as the starter and get all of the training camp reps he didn’t get last year.
That and the fact that he has what appears to be competent coaches that will work with him and not against him.

The additions of Pringle and Patrick help a lot for Fields.
Chicago needs as much help on the offensive line as possible.
The team gave up 58 sacks last season, the worst by any NFL team for the year.
First of all naggy is the worst play caller in football just look at his where his offense rank littlerly near the bottom of the league and the bears gave up the most sacks in the nfl last year with 58 including that horrible game vs Cleveland.

So getting Fields some protection is a good first step in helping him have a better season this year.
The Pringle addition helps with the receiver talent.
He had 42 receptions for 568 yards and five touchdowns in 2021.
Those stats are much better than Allen Robinson’s, the receiver that Chicago let walk away in free agency.
Fields has a lot of room for improvement, but can get there with some of the surrounding people on the team.
As long as the Bears can protect Fields from getting sacked, he should easily improve in 2022.
