The Chicago Bears traded four draft picks to have a chance at getting quarterback Justin Fields.
After all, he was a can’t-miss prospect after having 2,100 passing yards, 383 rushing yards, and 27 total touchdowns in his final year at Ohio State.
He could have compiled bigger numbers, if not for the shortened season due to COVID-19.
Unfortunately, the Bears’ gamble during the 2021 NFL Draft hasn’t paid off.
Worst yet, they might have made the wrong decision, especially after the team’s first three games in the 2022 season.
I don’t honestly know how you can’t be concerned about Justin Fields at this point.
In almost every imaginable way, he has regressed. That doesn’t mean the book is fully written on him but this has been about as worst case of a scenario to start the season that exists. #Bears

Through three games, Fields has 297 passing yards, 95 rushing yards, three total touchdowns, and four interceptions.
He had two games with completion rates of 47.1 percent, despite having just 45 total passing attempts.
Yet despite those disappointing marks, the Bears have won two of their first three games.
However, those victories came against the Houston Texans and the San Francisco 49ers, with the latter being a team that scored only ten points in their loss to the Denver Broncos.
Shallow Talent Pool Around Fields?
While the Bears have found ways to get wins, they need more help in their skill positions.
Khalil Herbert was impressive in their victory over Houston, but David Montgomery finished with only 11 rushing yards.
Worst yet, their receiving corps of Darnell Mooney, Dante Pettis, and Equanimeous St. Brown doesn’t strike fear among opponents.
But Fields is showing some signs of regression, especially considering that he had games of 291 and 285 passing yards last season.
Despite his struggles, the Bears will continue to roll with Fields because it’s either him or Trevor Siemian.
