Baker Mayfield had the best season of his career in 2024.
Despite having his share of ups and downs with the Cleveland Browns to start his time in the NFL, Mayfield has found a home with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, finally getting into a groove.
He threw for 4,500 yards and 41 touchdowns, which were good for third and tied for second among quarterbacks last season.
Mayfield has gotten a lot of the credit, of course, but many have been complimentary about what the coaching staff was able to do with him.
Todd Bowles’ leadership was a big part of his growth, which Mayfield made a point to highlight in a recent conversation with Kay Adams of “Up and Adams.”
“He’s just so consistent. Good, bad, indifferent; he doesn’t change,” Mayfield said.

Having a steady coach and role model can be the boost a player needs to take the next step in this league, and Mayfield’s 2024 season was indicative of that.
The Buccaneers are an older team with a lot of veterans, and Bowles was able to make an impact within the locker room and rally the troops together.
Mayfield made a name for himself with this team in 2024 and hopes to produce more of the same in 2025.
It’s not easy to put up back-to-back seasons of 4500+ passing yards and 40+ touchdowns, but with the right personnel and players, anything can happen in this league.
The Buccaneers are viewed as the favorites in the NFC South, and after analyzing their performances from 2024, it’s not hard to see why.
