The Tampa Bay Buccaneers trusted Baker Mayfield to fill Tom Brady’s shoes.
Needless to say, that’s a steep challenge.
Mayfield, however, has done a more than decent job at that.
He earned a big payday in the offseason, proving that last year wasn’t a fluke.
He’s reportedly on pace to cash in on five incentives for as much as $2.5 million in bonuses.
According to a report by Greg Auman of FOX Sports, Mayfield has $500.000 incentives if he finishes the season in the NFL top 10 or NFC top five in Passer rating (currently 3rd in the NFL, 2nd in the NFC), touchdown passes (tied-2nd in the NFL, 1st in the NFC), passing yards (3rd in the NFL, 2nd in the NFC), completion percentage (2nd in the NFL, 1st in the NFC), and yards per attempt (7th in the NFL, and 6th in the NFC).
An update on Baker Mayfield's contract incentives, which include $500k each if he finishes in the NFL top 10 or NFC top five in five key passing stats. He's on pace to get all five right now for $2.5 million in bonuses:

Mayfield would have been considered for MVP if Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, and Josh Allen had not been ahead of most of the pack.
It’s crazy to think that he was a backup two years ago.
He’s finally meeting the expectations of being the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft.
This is yet another example to show why it’s never wise or accurate to give up on struggling quarterbacks earlier in their careers.
The Cleveland Browns, on the other hand, will most likely be in the market for another franchise quarterback again in the offseason.
