The Tampa Bay Buccaneers revived Baker Mayfield’s career.
The former No. 1 pick has been a blessing to the team, and while he hasn’t been perfect, the transition from Tom Brady to him has been way smoother than most people thought.
As a matter of fact, he could even take down one of Brady’s records with the team.
As pointed out by Greg Auman of FOX Sports, the former Cleveland Browns signal-caller is currently on pace for 44 touchdown passes, which would break Brady’s record (43) from 2021.

He also pointed out that Brady currently has the only two seasons in franchise history with more than 33 touchdowns.
He also states that Jameis Winston threw 33 in 2019, but he also threw 30 interceptions.
As of now, Mayfield is on pace to throw 19 interceptions.
Mayfield did an outstanding job of taking care of the ball early in the season, throwing just two picks in the first five weeks.
He also had three games without interceptions.
Things have gone south in the past three matchups, with him throwing 3, 2, and 2 interceptions.
Of course, some of that has also had to do with him taking more risks without Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, but he still needs to dial back on that and get back to taking care of the football.
All in all, Mayfield is having a very decent season, throwing for 2,189 yards and 21 touchdowns.
Coaching matters and it’s always nice to see a talented player getting back on their feet after a disappointing start to their career.
