The Houston Astros had a banner year in 2022.
The team won 106 games and locked down the top seed in the American League.
They swept both the Seattle Mariners and New York Yankees en route to the World Series.
There, they held off the Philadelphia Phillies and captured their second title.
The year was full of several great moments, including Chas McCormick‘s gave-saving catch in Game 5 of the World Series, and all of Jeremy Pena‘s shining moments.
The Houston Sports Awards will be revealed on January 25, and several moments and key players have been nominated for every major award, save for College Athlete of the Year.

Astros Dominant In Houston
The City of Houston has several teams to cheer for.
Aside from the Astros, there are the Houston Rockets, the Houston Texans, the Owls from Rice University, and the Houston Cougars from the University of Houston.
One thing people will notice is that for the Athlete of the Year Award, all four nominees are members of the Astros 2022 World Series team.
For the Coach of the Year Award, Astros manager Dusty Baker was one of the four nominees.
Three of the four moments in contention for the Moment of the Year Award belong to the Astros.
Needless to say, the Astros are essentially dominating the City of Houston in terms of sports.
They won the World Series and are making all the headlines at just the right time.
The most interesting race might be for Athlete of the Year, given that all four nominees are members of the Astros.
