The Charlotte Hornets have unfortunately had a losing record for the last few seasons and now it seems like they might have chemistry problems too.
From the latest social media outbursts from Kai Jones to the lack of winning and cohesion, there are plenty of reasons to wonder if the Hornets can get it together.
NBA star Austin Rivers thinks the team’s star, LaMelo Ball, can really shine – if he has the right people around him.
“Surround LaMelo around f—–g people that can help him tap into his potential, not deplete it,” Rivers said to The Ringer, via ClutchPoints.
“There’s still teams that do it right. I don’t see this problem in OKC… That s–t don’t fly there,” he added.

Ball is a supremely talented young star, there is no denying that.
During his first three seasons in the league, he has averaged 23.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 8.4 assists.
Not only has he earned his first All-Star spot because of that, but he was also named the 2020-21 Rookie of the Year.
With such talent, one would think the Hornets would be in the playoffs every season.
That simply hasn’t been the case.
The team has been plagued by drama and injuries.
Ball himself has been hurt multiple times and has missed plenty of games.
While the injuries are mostly unavoidable, some people attribute the lack of wins to the youth of the team.
The Hornets have been noted for their incredibly young roster – is that hurting their chances?
Ball is just 22 years old and there is plenty of time for a strong team to be built around him, either in Charlotte or somewhere else.
If the Hornets don’t get on the right track soon, he might look for that strong team somewhere else.
