On Saturday, the Atlanta Braves were dealt a tough loss against the Milwaukee Brewers, as they squandered an early 3-0 lead and fell by a final score of 4-3.
However, the game wasn’t devoid of optimism for the five-time defending NL East champions.
All the Braves runs came in the top of the third inning, when third baseman and National League All-Star Austin Riley crushed his 22nd home run of the season, scoring Ronald Acuna Jr. and Ozzie Albies.
The home run gave Riley a streak of five games in which he has homered.
According to Sarah Langs of MLB.com, that’s tied for the longest such streak in Braves history.

Riley has certainly been on a roll as of late.
The ball traveled off the bat at 104.6 mph as the Braves jumped out in front early.
The 26-year-old is having yet another impressive season.
In 385 at-bats this year, the slugger is hitting .273 with 22 home runs, 61 RBI, and an .827 OPS.
But now, he has tied a historic Braves mark.
Riley made his Major League debut in 2019 and quickly became a fixture in a Braves uniform.
Four years later, the slugging third baseman is on a roll and is one of Atlanta’s key contributors.
Unfortunately, the home run wasn’t enough for the Braves to win, but Riley remains hot at the plate and heads into Sunday’s game with a chance to break the record of consecutive games with a home run.
It remains to be seen if he’ll be able to do it, but he’s on a hot streak right now and is ready for more.
