The Los Angeles Lakers surprised a lot of people with how they turned their season around last year.
They began the year 2-10 and finished in the Western Conference Finals.
One of the many reasons for their success was the emergence of Austin Reaves.
Reaves was signed by the Lakers as an undrafted free agent after the 2021 NBA draft.
He has proceeded to turn himself into a strong role player for the Lakers.
In 64 games last season, Reaves averaged 13.0 points, 3.4 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per game.
He even raised his game in the playoffs by averaging 16.9 points, 4.6 assists, and 4.4 rebounds.
One reason Reaves felt comfortable to thrive in his role is because of the leadership of LeBron James.
Reaves talked about how James is always smiling and laughing.
According to LakeShow on Twitter, Reaves said, “The best thing about him is that he comes to work every day happy.”

Coming to work happy is something that most people take for granted in the NBA.
Over a long 82-game season it is easy to burn out and need a break.
But James continues to lead by example by bringing a positive attitude.
Reaves has been affected by his presence.
James has announced that he will be returning for his 21st NBA season.
The Lakers will once again be on the short list of teams competing for a championship.
It will be interesting to see what the Lakers do for an encore after losing in the WCF last year.NEXT: Dwight Howard Reportedly Aiming At An NBA Return
