The Los Angeles Lakers have one of the best rosters in the game right now.
On top of having an elite superstar duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, they’ve also added plenty of young talent around them.
But you can never have enough stars on your roster, especially if you play for a team like the Lakers.
That’s why Jovan Buha of The Athletic asked Austin Reaves whether he was trying to recruit some players from Team USA, and while he couldn’t get into a lot of detail for obvious reasons, he did admit that he really likes some of his current teammates on the national team (via NBACentral).

Recently, ESPN insider Brian Windhorst revealed that Team USA is where most of the recruiting actually takes place, so it wouldn’t be far-fetched to think that Reaves could plant the seed in camp.
It happened with LeBron when he teamed up with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, and it could happen again with Bam Adebayo and Damian Lillard.
Guys like Anthony Edwards and Tyrese Haliburton figure to be two of the biggest stars in the game for years to come, with defensive-minded stars Jaren Jackson Jr. and Mikal Bridges also looking like appealing options.
The purple and gold will be James’ team for as long as he’s on the roster, but he’s not getting any younger right now.
And while it might take a while before we get to see whether Reaves’ recruiting attempts were successful, it’s never too early to get started with that.
