The Los Angeles Lakers headed into the NBA offseason with the plan of keeping their roster intact, as the team proved its worth making it all the way to the Western Conference Finals.
Even though the Lakers were swept by the eventual NBA champion Denver Nuggets in four games, Los Angeles definitely showed that this team could be a force to be reckoned with as currently constructed, with a few pieces added in NBA free agency.
Fortunately for the Lakers, GM Rob Pelinka was able to keep the team relatively intact while adding a few key pieces to the championship puzzle, like Gabe Vincent, Taurean Prince, Cam Reddish, Jaxson Hayes, and Christian Wood.
In a recent appearance on The Lowe Podcast with ESPN’s Zach Lowe, Austin Reaves talked about the Lakers roster and what he thinks the team can accomplish during the 2023-24 campaign, via Legion Hoops.
Austin Reaves on the Lakers:
“I would argue we probably have the most talented roster in the league, from top to bottom.”

Clearly, Reaves is confident that this Lakers team can be a legitimate NBA title contender during the upcoming season, which appears to be the consensus around the league, as long as LeBron James and Anthony Davis can stay healthy.
The team’s chances of being a title contender will once again hinge on the health of its superstars.
The Lakers won’t have an easy run at the NBA Finals, with the Nuggets expected to be just as good if not better, with the same being said for the Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors.
It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out, as things could get interesting in Los Angeles.
