After a rocky start to begin the 2023 NFL season, with the Los Angeles Chargers losing consecutive games to the Miami Dolphins and Tennessee Titans, Justin Herbert and company have been able to get back on right with two wins heading into their bye week.
Along with getting wins over the Minnesota Vikings and Las Vegas Raiders, the Chargers got some good news this week, with star running back Austin Ekeler seemingly ready to return to the field.
After an impressive performance in the two-point loss to the Dolphins in Week 1, in which Ekeler racked up 167 all-purpose yards and a touchdown, the 28-year-old missed the last three games with an ankle injury, which was a big blow for Los Angeles.
Fortunately, according to the running back himself, he’s 99% sure he’ll be able to return to the field for Week 6 against the Dallas Cowboys, via Yahoo Fantasy Sports.

Ekeler points out that he wanted to use the bye week to get his ankle healthy enough to get back, and everything seems to be trending in the right direction.
Even without Ekeler potentially back on the field for Week 6, the Chargers will have a tough challenge ahead against a Cowboys team that will want to bounce back with a vengeance after getting crushed by the San Francisco 49ers last week.
As for the Chargers, Herbert and his squad will try to keep a good thing going, with the team hoping to win a third straight game and remain competitive in the AFC West division.
