The Las Vegas Raiders got the guy they wanted to lead them into the next era, at least, the guy the players wanted.
Antonio Pierce is tough as nails, and he was able to connect to the players on a different level.
He used to be right there in the trenches as well, so he knows what they’re going through and how to put them in the best position to succeed.
Pierce earned the praise and respect of his players, earning the right to get the ‘interim’ tag removed from his head coaching job, and establishing a culture of toughness, accountability, competitiveness, and camaraderie within the locker room.
The players related to him from his nine-year career with the Washington Redskins (now Commanders) and New York Giants, where he even won a Super Bowl.
Needless to say, Pierce had to face a plethora of talent throughout the course of his career.

He told stories about how Allen would even dare him to run through his gap and let him know where the play was going, adding that he was quite relieved when he was finally out of his division.
Allen went down as one of the toughest guards to ever do it.
He had a 14-year career with the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers, making it to 11 Pro Bowls with seven All-Pro selections and one Super Bowl ring.
