Last night was historic for New York Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo.
He hit three home runs against the Baltimore Orioles: it was his first three-home run game of his storied career.
He now leads MLB with eight dingers, and is also among the leaders in other key stats.
The most important thing, however, was the fact he was able to raise a lot of money for kids with cancer.
Yes: through the Anthony Rizzo Foundation, the slugger and his team were able to raise over $15,000 just yesterday alone.
“The first 3 Home Run game of @ARizzo44‘s career. AND more than $15,000 raised TONIGHT ALONE for kids with Cancer! #TEAMRIZZO!,” the foundation tweeted last night.
The player also had some words to say.
“What makes nights like last night even more special is knowing we raised money to help make things easier for families going through the worst time of their lives. If you can, join our team and make every HR count,” he said.

A Great Way To Help
The official page of Rizzo’s foundation explains how one can help, through the “Home Run Challenge”.
“You can be a part of the New York Yankees season by getting involved and making every home run count. Family, friends and fans can pledge any dollar amount for each home run Anthony hits during the 2022 season. Every time Anthony hits a home run, not only will the team benefit so will kids and families battling Cancer,” the text read.
Rizzo, a cancer survivor himself, created his foundation in 2012 with the help of his family, with the objective of raising funds to help pediatric cancer patients and their families.
Members of the team will get a set of benefits, ranging from foundation ticket events to signed merchandise.
Members can contribute from $5 per home run to $100 or more, with the chance of getting cool stuff such as bags, autographed balls, and the joy of helping those in need.
Evidently, Tuesday was a great day for the foundation.
