The Minnesota Timberwolves could have a bit of a problem on their hands.
They gave up a lot of assets to get Rudy Gobert, even though his fit next to Karl-Anthony Towns was questionable, to say the least.
The team struggled early in the season, and it wasn’t until Towns got hurt that we saw the best version of Gobert, all but confirming what people had already thought about this pairing.
Of course, that, combined with Towns’ availability issues, made people wonder whether the Timberwolves would eventually look to trade him and build around Anthony Edwards.
However, that’s not how the young shooting guard feels.
When asked about who he’d trade between Towns and Gobert, Edwards was straightforward, stating that he loves all of his teammates and that he would never trade one of his brothers (via Yahoo Sports and Legion Hoops).
Anthony Edwards was asked which of his teammates he would rather trade: Towns or Rudy Gobert.
His response: “Neither one, man. I like all my teammates. I love them. They my brothers. I wouldn’t trade neither one of them.”

This is exactly what you want to hear from your young leader, and even if he doesn’t actually mean it and he’d prefer to play with one or the other, that’s not what he should’ve said.
Edwards looks like the hardnosed competitor and strong-minded leader that one would love to build a franchise around.
He’s just getting better, and this summer with Team USA may have helped boost his development even further.
Edwards could turn out to be the next face of the league, and now it’ll be up to his teammates to step up and pay him back with some stellar play, as he won’t be able to win on his own.
