It has been a banner season so far for the Minnesota Timberwolves, who are making a surprising run at their franchise record of 58 wins.
They couldn’t be even close to this position without young superstar Anthony Edwards, who broke a franchise record last night en route to leading the Wolves to yet another win in a 119-100 beatdown of the Utah Jazz.
Edwards put up 31 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, and 3 blocks, establishing a new franchise record with his 26th 30-point performance this season.

The milestone put him past Kevin Love’s 2013-14 season and established a new franchise record that he will surely extend sooner rather than later.
Edwards made his second All-Star team this season and is currently putting up career-best numbers at 26.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game for the 46-21 Timberwolves.
Minnesota is 12 wins away from tying its franchise record and currently sits in third place in the Western Conference, just one game out of first place behind the Oklahoma City Thunder and Denver Nuggets.
The Wolves are trying to keep pace without star big man Karl-Anthony Towns, who recently went down with a torn meniscus and is aiming to be ready for the playoffs.
Edwards has stepped up in his absence, as the 22-year-old has played at least 35 minutes and taken at least 20 shots in every game since KAT’s injury.
The 30-point game record is great but ultimately this team will be judged on what it does in the postseason.
Minnesota has only won two playoff series ever, and both were in that historic 58-win season back in 2004.
