Perhaps the biggest surprise team during the 2023-24 NBA regular season has been the Minnesota Timberwolves, with Anthony Edwards being a budding superstar and the team rallying around him, resulting in a first-place standing in the Western Conference.
Everything seems to be coming together at the right time for the Timberwolves, meaning this team has a legitimate shot at contending for an NBA title this year if Edwards and company can continue to play at a high level moving forward.
Unfortunately, the Timberwolves suffered a blow this week with the team losing to Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks in Minnesota, which could be an NBA Finals preview.
Edwards wasn’t happy about the loss, as he admitted after the game that he could have played better, even though he scored a team-high 28 points via Bally Sports North.
“I’m mad we won’t play them again, but it’s all good,” Edwards said.

Even though Edwards scored a team-high 28 points, he had a poor shooting night, going 10-for-27 from the floor and 4-for-12 from beyond the arc.
However, Edwards was humble in defeat and didn’t deflect blame as some other stars around the league might have if put in the same situation.
The budding superstar seems to have the right mentality moving forward, as he is the first to admit when he didn’t play well enough and uses these experiences as an opportunity to learn and get better.
Despite not being able to play the Bucks again in the regular season, it’s not beyond the realm of possibility these two teams meet in the NBA Finals.
