The Los Angeles Lakers earned another win on Friday night, beating the Toronto Raptors 131-125 and bringing their record to 4-2.
Even during their unfortunate losses, one thing about the Lakers has been consistent at all times: Anthony Davis.
Davis was at it again on Friday, scoring 38 points, 11 rebounds, and two blocks.
As noted by NBA on ESPN, Davis is now averaging 31.8 points through the first six games of the season, which is the most by a Laker since Kobe Bryant.

Davis is obviously in great company and is experiencing the best start of his career.
The nine-time All-Star is averaging 31.8 points, 12 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game, shooting 57.3% from the field and playing for an average of 35.8 minutes.
This is exactly what the Lakers want from Davis and he is a huge part of why they are doing better than expected so far.
He is currently leading the entire league with points per game and there is a growing conversation about him being in contention for MVP or Defensive Player of the Year.
For years, questions and concerns have followed Davis through every season.
There have been worries about his physical health and how much time he can spend on the court without injuries.
But he actually played 76 games last season, the most of his career, and looks to be in great shape so far in 2024-25.
Has Davis turned a corner and are the problems of the past truly behind him?
Davis is putting up monster numbers every single game and isn’t showing any signs of slowing down.
The Lakers are alive in the West and he’s a massive reason why.
