Even before his first regular season NBA game, Bronny James has received a tidal wave of headlines, speculation, and attention.
Because of his father’s career and legacy, many fans expect big things from Bronny – but will he deliver?
According to NBACentral, ESPN recently spoke with an Eastern Conference executive and an Eastern Conference scout about James and both of those anonymous sources said James has been set up to fail.
“If they had any real idea of how far away Bronny is, they just would not have done this,” the executive said.
Meanwhile, the scout added, “You’re set up for failure. It’s like, what’s the expectation here?”

People will talk about Bronny’s skills and potential in the league but no one can deny that he’s had a very busy few years.
While still back in high school, he was seen as a potential NBA prospect.
The possibility of him being signed to the league grew even more when he entered college, even though his sole season with USC wasn’t all that promising.
Few people were surprised when James found a home in the league and it also wasn’t shocking that the Los Angeles Lakers were the team that drafted him.
He was the 55th pick, which is close to the end of the draft, but people still anticipate impressive results from him.
And if he doesn’t deliver those things, people are going to criticize him heavily.
But it won’t just be Bronny who hears the criticism, as the Lakers and the entire league will also get blowback for drafting him before he was ready.
However, before that can happen, Bronny has the right to prove himself and show what he’s capable of.
The regular season is approaching and this will be one of the biggest storylines to follow.
