The two-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs are a perfect 8-0 after Patrick Mahomes and company got the best of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on “Monday Night Football” to end NFL Week 9.
Although the Chiefs were able to win their eighth straight game and keep their undefeated record intact, Mahomes suffered a sprained ankle, which obviously is a significant cause for concern, especially with all the injuries the team is already dealing with on the offensive side of the football.
Even though Mahomes’ injury is concerning, as there’s no way this team functions the same way offensively without the three-time Super Bowl champion under center, the superstar is doing well heading into the Week 10 matchup against the division-rival Denver Broncos.
According to head coach Andy Reid, Mahomes hasn’t missed any practice time.
“He’s done a good job,” Reid said, via Nate Taylor of The Athletic. “He hasn’t missed anything. He’s done a good job.”

Based on Reid’s comments, the Chiefs do not seem to be worried about his status for the game against the Broncos.
However, it remains to be seen how well Mahomes can perform with the ankle sprain, but he has shown he is as tough as they come and will likely be able to power through.
