The New York Jets have the unfamiliar feeling of optimism, as the arrival of future Hall-of-Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers has made them believe they can do something special this season.
But there is a wide range of preseason prognostications for New York.
Some feel reaching the Super Bowl is a realistic goal for the team, while others think it will be an uphill climb for them to merely make the playoffs.
Analyst Emmanuel Acho feels the Jets will hardly have any type of honeymoon period, especially since they will face the Buffalo Bills in Week 1, via “Speak” on FS1.

The Jets will have a rough schedule to begin the season — after playing the Bills, they will visit the Dallas Cowboys the following week, and they will then host the defending world champion Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4.
Week 6 will have New York take on the NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles before they have a bye week right afterward.
The naysayers point to the fact that Rodgers is 39 years of age and saw his production drop considerably last season with the Green Bay Packers.
However, he will have more weapons around him in New York than he has had in quite some time.
Wide receiver Garrett Wilson is one of the NFL’s more promising young players, and the Jets’ defense was fourth in points and total yards allowed last season.
Rodgers seems to feel rejuvenated in his new surroundings, and if he still has something meaningful left in the tank, he can bring it out with the help of his new teammates.
