The Denver Broncos were the most disappointing team in the NFL last season.
After they acquired Russell Wilson in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks, Denver was expected to compete for a Super Bowl.
Instead, they finished 5-12 and last in the AFC West.
That sparked them to hire new head coach Sean Payton this offseason.
He will be tasked will fixing the Broncos offense and, most importantly, Russell Wilson.
Wilson is coming off the worst season of his NFL career.
He looked nothing like the superstar quarterback we were used to seeing in Seattle.
In 15 games, he threw for 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while only completing 60.5% of his passes.
Some are even starting to question if Wilson no longer has that skill set from his earlier years.
Dan Graziano said on “Get Up” that Wilson’s legacy is on the line this season.
For a player that has been great for so many years, it is odd seeing him play this poorly.
But the NFL is a “what have you done for me lately” league.
And lately, Wilson has been bad.
The Broncos gave Wilson a massive contract extension when they traded for him before the start of last season.
Thus, they are pretty much stuck with him for the foreseeable future.
Denver must do whatever it takes to get Wilson back to Pro Bowl form.
The AFC is once again loaded this season.
Finding a way to get to double-digit wins seems like a must to get into the playoffs.
Doing so will all be on the shoulders of Wilson.
