The Boston Celtics are the best team in basketball right now.
Joe Mazzulla’s squad just put on a clinic against the Golden State Warriors, beating them by 52 points.
They’ve only lost 12 games this season, cementing themselves as one of the strongest contenders in the game.
With that in mind, sports analyst Craig Carton claimed that it’s a wrap already, and there’s simply no chance that anybody else will catch them in the Eastern Conference (via The Carton Show).
“It’s a wrap. The Celtics are the number 1 seed,” Carton said.

The Celtics currently have an 8.5-game lead over the second-seeded Milwaukee Bucks, so he might be right on point, as there may not be enough games left in the season for them to lose that big edge.
Barring a disaster and a major string of injuries, the Celtics should be in control of that No. 1 seed until the end of the season.
Even if they lose one or two of their stars, they have too much firepower and depth to keep the ship afloat for the remainder of the campaign.
The Celtics have put together the most stacked roster in the Association, and GM Brad Stevens deserves a lot of credit for the way he’s been able to keep adding reinforcements to his championship-caliber core.
Then again, we’ve already seen this team dominate in the regular season and then fall short in the playoffs too many times.
This time, it’s championship-or-bust for them.
There’s no more room or time for excuses; they have absolutely everything they need to get the job done.
