Just a few days ago, ESPN insider Shams Charania got pushback from Jimmy Butler’s agent when he said the Miami Heat star could possibly be traded to the Phoenix Suns.
But not only is a move to the Suns possible, but it’s actually quite likely, according to another source.
Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro reported, via NBACentral, that the Suns are Butler’s top choice if he leaves the Heat.
Gambadoro said:
“I would go as far as to say that I believe this will be his number one choice, is to play for the Phoenix Suns.”

According to inside reports, Butler wants to move to a team that has “win now” potential.
That means he wishes to be with a squad that has the best chance of going far in the playoffs and possibly winning a title as soon as possible.
The Suns have their fair share of problems, but they have shown some promise this year when they have been totally healthy.
After a strong start to the year, they have slipped down to the tenth spot in the West, although that is because of Kevin Durant’s absence.
The hope is that he can come back, help the team surge again, and climb toward the top of the standings.
Butler could add a ton to the team, but the Suns would have to ship away several players and even some draft picks in order to get him.
That could mess with the team’s roster, chemistry, and chances of postseason success.
Would it be worth it for the Suns, who have given up so much over the last few years in blockbuster trades?
Apparently, Butler wants to play in Phoenix, but that might not make this a done deal.
