The New York Jets made headlines again during the NFL offseason but for an unexpected reason.
It has been reported that Aaron Rodgers took a $35 million pay cut after conversations about restructuring his contract.
This didn’t happen during his time in Green Bay, leaving Packer fans stunned.
The Good Morning Football crew discussed Rodgers’ pay cut at length, and Peter Schrager gave extended thoughts on the matter.
“You see the news, and you’re waiting for some sort of catch,” Schrager said, but there isn’t one.
"You see the news and you're waiting for some sort of catch. There's not. And when a guy of @AaronRodgers12 caliber takes a pay cut, it's a testament to not only the player, but also, the @nyjets organization and the belief that they're building something special."

Schrager added, “When a guy of Aaron Rodgers caliber takes a pay cut, it’s a testament to not only the player but also the Jets organization.”
The addition of Rodgers to this offense has given many fans hope.
After missing the playoffs for 12 consecutive seasons, there is a growing belief that Rodgers can help this team make a postseason run.
With the news of him taking a pay cut, it now appears the Jets are all in.
This will give them additional resources to add to this team, helping build the team around Rodgers in his first year in New York.
As Schrager said, the Jets are “building something special.”
They had one of the league’s most elite defenses last season, which is slated to be the case again this year.
If Rodgers and his new offense can put things together, there’s no telling what they can accomplish.
Training camp highlights have shown early chemistry between Rodgers and his receivers, especially Garrett Wilson, giving fans a glimpse into their future.
