Before Sunday night, the Dallas Mavericks were undefeated in Game 2s in the playoffs.
They hadn’t lost consecutive games in the postseason either.
Both streaks came to an end, and while they were significantly better than they were in Game 1, they still fell short.
That’s why sports analyst Craig Carton claimed to be quite disappointed in them.
Talking on “The Carton Show,” he claimed that this one was “a winnable game,” as the Celtics struggled to shoot the ball.

He also called out Luka Doncic for not showing up in the fourth quarter, stating that he looked exhausted.
Doncic scored three points with two assists on 1-of-6 from the floor in the fourth quarter, and he also had two turnovers.
Nonetheless, the fact that he was out there was still quite impressive, as he was dealing with ankle, knee, and chest injuries and was a game-time decision ahead of tip-off.
Still, that doesn’t make what Carton said any less accurate.
The Celtics were just 10-of-39 from beyond the three-point line, and the Mavericks were right there for the entire game.
Kyrie Irving only scored 16 points and continued to struggle with his shot.
He’s combined for 28 points through the first two games of the series, and he’s going to have to step up big time if the Mavs want to stand a chance in this series.
The series will move to Texas for the next two matchups, and there will be no more margin for error for Jason Kidd and his troops.
