Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors has been the subject of much controversy during his career, including this season when he suffered multiple suspensions for his on-court outbursts.
But he started a new chapter and is much more level-headed now, according to analyst Mark Willard.
Speaking on 95.7 The Game, Willard talked about how Green refrained from getting into a fight during a recent game against the Memphis Grizzlies.
“I really, really, really am impressed,” Willard said when speaking of the growth he saw.

Willard claimed that the Grizzlies were attempting to get under Green’s skin and make him “implode,” but it didn’t work and Green kept his cool, although he did earn a technical foul for a clash with Grizzlies star Santi Aldama.
Willard believes that Green would have gotten into a big scuffle in previous seasons, likely leading to another technical, an ejection, and more.
But he is clearly being more mindful of his actions and how they affect his team.
That’s not too surprising considering Green spent a lot of time away from the game and committed to doing self-work to improve himself, his temperament, and his actions.
Although Green still has a temper and contentious personality, he is much more measured with his responses.
That is helping out the Warriors, who have benefited from the return of Green.
In 2023-24, Green is averaging 8.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 6.1 assists.
Beyond the impact he has had on the scoreboard, Green has helped the team stay motivated even during a very rough year.
The Warriors are currently fighting to reach the Play-In Tournament and they will need Green to remain competitive and careful of his actions.
