The NBA is an offensive-minded league now more than ever, and having an elite scorer could take you a long way.
That’s why there’s always that ongoing debate on who’s the best offensive player in the league, and there is no shortage of potential answers.
One could always talk about the likes of Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, or Joel Embiid, but Giannis Antetokounmpo had recently run past all of them as the most unstoppable scoring force in the league.
That was until Nikola Jokic took that major leap forward, at least, according to ESPN insider Zach Lowe.
"[Nikola Jokić] has eked past Giannis and Kevin Durant as the best player in the NBA."

In his latest appearance on ESPN’s Get Up, Lowe said that Giannis might be taking notes and receipts of what everybody’s saying about Jokic because it’s the same things they were saying about them just six months ago.
However, as much as Giannis could come back stronger and get past Jokic, there’s no denying that the Serbian big man has established himself as the most dominant offensive juggernaut in the game right now, and that’s why he’s a two-time MVP and his team is in the NBA Finals.
Lowe believes that Jokic has eked past Giannis, Durant, and everybody else in the league right now, and it’ll be up to someone else to take him down as the best offensive force in the game.
That’ll be easier said than done, of course, but there’s more than enough talent in the league, so it’s only a matter of time before someone steals that distinction again.
